Circle Internet Financial has announced the integration of native USDC and Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) with the Aptos blockchain, a layer-1 platform designed for secure, scalable, and upgradeable Web3 infrastructure. This move is expected to bolster Aptos' rapidly growing DeFi ecosystem by allowing developers to leverage the industry's largest regulated dollar stablecoin for various applications, including peer-to-peer payments, global commerce, and gaming. The introduction of CCTP will facilitate cross-chain transactions, enabling apps on Aptos to interact with other blockchains like Ethereum, Solana, and more without the need to lock up liquidity, thus enhancing security and capital efficiency. This advancement coincides with Aptos' integration into Stripe's crypto products, which will allow users to convert fiat to USDC seamlessly, providing global businesses with faster, more secure, and cost-effective transaction processes. Bridged USDC from LayerZero, previously the largest stablecoin on Aptos, will transition to native USDC, with ecosystem outreach planned to ensure smooth adoption.
