Smart contract development made easy
Blog post from Circle
Circle Internet Financial has introduced Contract-CLI, an open-source, configurable build tool designed to streamline the development, testing, and deployment of smart contracts, particularly for EVM-compatible blockchains. Initially developed internally to enhance Circle's own build systems and facilitate the expansion of their blockchain engineering team, Contract-CLI addresses challenges in smart contract development by ensuring consistency and repeatability through automation. The tool allows users to define a series of build steps that are executed within a Docker container, ensuring a uniform environment across different setups. Contract-CLI supports customization and extensibility, making it applicable not only for Ethereum but also for other blockchain platforms like Avalanche and Polygon. By open-sourcing Contract-CLI, Circle aims to improve smart contract quality and productivity in the Web3 developer community, inviting contributions and feedback via its GitHub repository.
