This development follows Circle Singapore's acquisition of a Major Payments Institution license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in June 2023. Circle Mint provides users with Singapore-registered entities access to zero-fee minting and redemption of USDC, and instant conversion of fiat funds to USDC, aligning closely with MAS regulations to ensure secure and efficient financial activities. The initiative is part of Circle's commitment to advancing digital currency use, with plans to integrate expanded regional banking rails for near-instant transactions. Circle Internet Singapore Pte. Ltd., an affiliate of Circle Internet Financial, is licensed under Singapore's Payments Services Act to offer various digital payment services, though it is not a bank, and funds are not insured by governmental agencies.
