Circle Internet Financial has announced enhancements to Circle Paymaster, a permissionless platform that allows developers to enable users to pay blockchain gas fees using USDC. The updates include support for Externally Owned Accounts (EOAs) through EIP-7702, which allows users with traditional wallets to pay gas fees in USDC without switching to smart contract accounts, simplifying transactions and reducing friction for users and institutions. Additionally, Circle Paymaster has expanded its multichain functionality beyond Arbitrum and Base to include Ethereum, OP Mainnet, and Polygon PoS, with plans to add Avalanche and Unichain, thereby enhancing accessibility across widely-used EVM-compatible blockchains. Users can currently take advantage of these new features without incurring the usual 10% gas fee, which is waived until July 1, 2025.
