Summary

Circle Internet Financial announced that native USDC and its Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) are now available on X Layer, OKX’s EVM-compatible Layer-2 blockchain. The integration is intended to support dollar-denominated payments, cross-chain transfers, DeFi lending and trading, AI-driven or agentic applications, and institutional workflows for X Layer’s ecosystem and OKX’s more than 120 million global users. Circle says native USDC is fully reserved, redeemable 1:1 for US dollars, MiCA-compliant, and accessible to qualifying businesses through Circle Mint on- and offramps, while CCTP enables USDC movement between X Layer and other supported blockchains. X Layer will continue supporting the separately labeled Ethereum-bridged token, USDC_Bridged, although its ecosystem plans to migrate liquidity toward Circle-issued native USDC over time.
