Native USDC and CCTP are coming to EDGE Chain: What you need to know
Blog post from Circle
Circle Internet Financial has announced the forthcoming integration of native USDC and Circle's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) into EDGE Chain, a layer-3 blockchain that operates atop Arbitrum's layer-2 chain and finalizes transactions on Ethereum's layer-1. This move is expected to enhance the EDGE ecosystem, particularly the edgeX decentralized exchange, by providing access to the world's largest regulated stablecoin and facilitating secure cross-chain transfers. Native USDC will offer a trusted digital dollar for trading, lending, and other on-chain activities, while CCTP will enable seamless movement of USDC across supported blockchains, easing integration for developers. The introduction of native USDC aims to empower a variety of use cases, including DeFi markets, and will eventually replace the currently supported bridged USDC. This development is set to bolster the trading ecosystem on EDGE Chain and increase its viability for institutional and individual users alike.
