Gateway Adds ERC-1271 Support for Programmable Authorization

Circle Internet Financial has enhanced its Gateway service by incorporating support for ERC-1271, allowing smart contracts and smart wallets to access unified USDC balances directly without the need for delegate approvals. This development facilitates programmable authorization models, enabling applications like DeFi protocols, payment systems, and treasury tools to maintain their existing authorization logic while streamlining operations. With ERC-1271 support, developers can validate signatures using contract-based verification, simplifying the integration process and reducing setup complexity. This advancement allows for more efficient crosschain liquidity management, automated recurring payments, and seamless chain-abstracted user experiences. The integration preserves existing smart wallet authorization models, such as multisig approvals and role-based permissions, maintaining policy controls within the smart contracts themselves.
