EURC Surpasses €400 Million in Circulation
Blog post from Circle
Circle Internet Financial reports that EURC, its euro-pegged stablecoin, has surpassed €400 million in circulation, driven by more than 100% supply growth over the prior year and expanding use across exchanges, payment networks, institutional platforms, and five blockchain networks including Ethereum, Avalanche, Stellar, Solana, and Base. Launched in 2022, EURC has gained distribution through exchanges such as Coinbase, Kraken, Bitpanda, Bitstamp, and Bybit, as well as euro-based on- and off-ramp providers and custody platforms. Circle attributes increasing institutional adoption to EURC’s integration into Visa and Mastercard settlement capabilities, its use in treasury, settlement, foreign exchange, and payments workflows, and its regulatory structure under the EU’s MiCA framework. EURC is issued as a fully reserved e-money token by Circle’s French regulated entity, with segregated reserves, monthly third-party attestations, and 1:1 euro redemption for authorized Circle Mint users. While dollar stablecoins remain dominant globally, the euro stablecoin market grew from roughly €400 million in June 2025 to €650 million in June 2026, and Circle positions EURC as the category leader amid a much larger potential market represented by the euro area’s more than €16 trillion M2 money supply.
