Circle Ventures, launched in November 2021 by Circle Internet Financial, is an initiative aimed at investing in the crypto and Web3 ecosystem to enhance the adoption and growth of USD Coin (USDC). The venture has since supported over 45 teams working on projects in areas such as decentralized finance (DeFi), centralized finance (CeFi), non-fungible tokens (NFTs), DAO tooling, blockchain gaming, and payment systems. A key focus has been on fostering the development of regulated digital asset exchange markets in the United States, where Circle has become an investor and shareholder in major platforms like Binance.US, Coinbase, FTX.US, and Kraken. These efforts are intended to strengthen the crypto economy and expand the role of stablecoins in commerce and finance.
