Circle Gateway Now Supports cirBTC and EURC
Blog post from Circle
Circle Internet Financial announced that its Circle Gateway infrastructure now supports Circle Wrapped Bitcoin (cirBTC) and the euro-denominated stablecoin EURC alongside USDC, enabling businesses and developers to maintain one unified balance per asset and access liquidity across supported blockchains after deposit finalization, with stated crosschain availability in under 500 milliseconds. cirBTC is supported on Arc and Ethereum, while EURC is supported on Arc, Avalanche, Base, Ethereum, Solana, and World Chain. The expansion is intended to reduce the need for chain-specific inventory and rebalancing, supporting uses such as exchange withdrawals, merchant or customer payouts, wallet balance displays, market making, and BTC- or euro-denominated high-frequency payments. Gateway’s Nanopayments system can aggregate transactions offchain and settle them in onchain batches, avoiding gas fees for individual payments while retaining batch-settlement costs. The capability uses Gateway’s existing contracts, APIs, SDKs, and Unified Balance Kit, with launch fees waived for cirBTC and EURC on Arc, a 1-basis-point fee elsewhere for those assets, and unchanged 0.5-basis-point USDC fees; Circle notes that timing and fee estimates are not guaranteed and that its non-custodial software services remain subject to technical, market, regulatory, and compliance risks.
