Circle Internet Financial has announced the evolution of its Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) with the introduction of CCTP V2, which has become the canonical version since its launch on March 11, 2025. The original CCTP V1, now referred to as CCTP V1 (Legacy), will be phased out by July 31, 2026, following a 10-month deprecation period. CCTP V2 introduces enhanced capabilities such as faster-than-finality settlement, post-transfer automation, and composability, and is live on 17 blockchains, with plans for further expansion. Circle is committed to developing new features and chain expansions to support larger transaction flows and more assets. Developers using CCTP V1 are encouraged to migrate to the new version, with support available through Circle's resources and community channels. As of November 14, 2025, CCTP V2 is not yet available on Aptos, Noble, and Sui, but Circle plans to launch on these platforms by mid-2026, ensuring a smooth transition for developers.
