Announcing Support for USDC on Polygon
Blog post from Circle
Circle Internet Financial has announced the integration of USDC on the Polygon network through its platform, allowing customers to deposit and withdraw USDC on Polygon via the Circle Account and APIs without the need for manual bridging. This integration leverages Polygon's capabilities as a layer 2 solution for Ethereum, offering faster and more cost-efficient transactions, and supports the growing ecosystem of decentralized applications (dApps), decentralized finance (DeFi), and NFTs. With this support, businesses can seamlessly accept payments, make payouts, and easily convert between fiat currency and USDC on Polygon, facilitating access to one of the largest user bases in Web3. USDC on Polygon is a 'bridged' version of USDC from Ethereum, and while it cannot be directly redeemed for U.S. dollars, Circle automates the unbridging process for redemption at no extra cost. This development enhances the accessibility and efficiency of digital asset transactions, aligning with Circle's mission to transform global money movement.
