Chroma organized the world's first hackathon over the weekend of April 8th and 9th, with approximately 100 participants forming 36 teams to demonstrate their projects. The event was designed to foster community participation and to allow attendees to start fresh and build something entirely new, rather than continuing work on pre-existing projects. Unlike typical one-day hackathons, this event spanned two days to provide participants ample time for brainstorming, forming teams, and acquainting themselves with ChatGPT plugins. This structure aimed to encourage spontaneity and innovation, with the first day focused on understanding and experimentation, and the second dedicated to building. The hackathon concluded with final presentations and awarding of prizes by 7:15 PM, although some participants expressed dissatisfaction with the venue being closed overnight. However, organizers believed this decision helped ensure participants were rested and ready for the next day's activities.
