Meet the 2025 Checkr.org Fairness and Safety Grantees

Checkr.org, the corporate foundation of Checkr, is dedicated to fostering stronger, fairer, and safer communities by supporting organizations aligned with these priorities. In 2025, the foundation expanded its impact beyond fair chance hiring to include broader initiatives promoting fairness and safety. Six nonprofit organizations were awarded grants for their innovative approaches in these areas. Among the safety-focused grantees are Stop Scams Alliance, which combats fraud, the National Elder Fraud Coordination Center, which addresses elder fraud, and Thorn, which uses AI to tackle online child abuse. Fairness-focused grantees include the Televerde Foundation, offering workforce development for incarcerated women; Impact Justice, providing mentorship and skills development for justice-impacted young adults; and New Earth, offering education and career training for justice-impacted youth. By strategically investing in these initiatives, Checkr.org aims to enhance economic opportunities for justice-impacted individuals and create safer environments, thereby making a lasting impact on community resilience and empowerment.
