Summary

Playwright is now available for use in browser checks for active monitoring, and its popular Puppeteer Recorder Chrome extension has been renamed to Headless Recorder. The library was built by the original creators of Puppeteer and offers a different architecture with more activity and new features than Puppeteer. Key differences between Puppeteer and Playwright include their APIs, architectures, and first-class support for other browsers like Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge. While Checkly currently supports only Google Chrome, users can still use both libraries without migration, as the platform will bring all new features from both libraries to its users. The Headless Recorder extension now supports Playwright, offering a powerful browser recording and script generation tool.
