Introducing: Checkly Agent Skills

Checkly has introduced a new agent skill designed to enhance AI coding agents' capabilities in setting up and managing monitoring infrastructures as code. The skill provides AI agents with structured, on-demand instructions, enabling them to perform tasks like API checks, browser checks, and alert configurations in line with best practices. It includes a directory with a core SKILL.md file and optional reference files, which agents can access when needed, promoting efficiency by only loading relevant information for specific tasks. This token-efficient approach ensures faster responses and lower costs, as agents begin with minimal context and progressively load more detailed instructions as required. The Checkly skill integrates seamlessly with popular AI agents such as Claude Code and Codex, allowing them to handle monitoring setups competently by adhering to established conventions and configurations. Furthermore, Checkly aims to expand its agent skills to include Playwright best practices and incident resolution patterns, ultimately embedding agent context directly into the Checkly CLI to streamline the process further.
