The University of Basel's Center for Innovative Finance, led by Prof. Dr. Fabian Schär, has received a grant from the Chainlink Community Grant Program to support its 2022 Blockchain Challenge. This initiative focuses on exploring the use of dynamic NFTs to represent real-world assets, integrating blockchain technology into contractual agreements within centralized and decentralized finance systems. The grant will aid in organizing and administering the program, as well as contributing to a prize pool for participating students. The project aims to define asset classes that can be represented by dynamic NFTs, deploy smart contracts using Chainlink's technology, and explore the evolution of these NFTs over time. Prof. Schär, an expert in blockchain and fintech, expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to practical applications, highlighting the grant's role in advancing blockchain adoption and the development of hybrid smart contracts. The Chainlink Grant Program supports the creation of functional and accessible blockchain networks, encouraging developers and researchers to contribute to the Chainlink ecosystem.
