The 2020 HackMoney Virtual Hackathon, sponsored by ETHGlobal, featured a range of innovative projects utilizing Chainlink oracles, with participants competing for $5,000 in LINK bounties. Among the 18 projects that integrated Chainlink, the top three were recognized for their creativity, usability, and technical complexity. First place went to Genie, a no-loss reward platform for gaming competitions that uses Chainlink to verify results and distribute prizes in stablecoins. Second place was awarded to DefiDollar, a tokenized index for stablecoins that maintains its dollar peg using Chainlink's price reference data. The third place winner, CandyShop, is a DEX aggregator that employs Chainlink's Verifiable Random Function (VRF) for a lottery mechanism, enhancing trade efficiency and slippage reduction. These projects highlight the versatility and impact of Chainlink's decentralized oracle networks in expanding smart contract capabilities, encouraging further innovation in blockchain applications.
