Floodlight, a data and analytics platform providing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data, has been awarded a Chainlink Community Grant to develop a data feed that will make geospatial data accessible on-chain via the Chainlink Network. This initiative aims to enable developers to create hybrid smart contracts that promote reforestation and sustainable agriculture, reducing carbon emissions by leveraging reliable climate-related data, biomass, and carbon analytics. Floodlight's mission is to offer unbiased ESG data to empower investment professionals and drive capital toward impactful climate initiatives, facilitated by making precise ESG data available on-chain to support decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols. This approach is designed to mitigate greenwashing and hold entities accountable for environmental practices while aligning with Chainlink's goal of fostering innovative projects through its grant program.
