Chainlink Staking v0.2 is an upgrade designed to enhance the security and scalability of the Chainlink network by allowing participants, such as node operators and community members, to stake LINK tokens. This upgrade builds upon the v0.1 release, introducing more flexible staking opportunities and new reward types while improving security and support for architectural updates. The launch begins on November 28, 2023, with a nine-day Priority Migration period for v0.1 stakers, followed by Early Access and General Access phases, each with specific staking limits. A web interface has been launched to check eligibility for these phases using a Web3 wallet to verify address ownership. The v0.2 pool is capped at 45,000,000 LINK, with a significant portion allocated to community members and the rest to node operators. The expansion aims to ensure diverse participation and prevent dominance by a few large stakeholders, reflecting lessons learned from v0.1. This initiative is part of Chainlink Economics 2.0, aiming to enhance data security, utility, and service provider participation within the Chainlink ecosystem.
