Chainlink Labs has launched the Chainlink SCALE program, part of the Chainlink 2.0 economics, to accelerate the development of blockchain and Layer 2 ecosystems while ensuring the sustainable growth of the Chainlink network economy. This initiative allows blockchains and Layer 2 networks that join the program to waive Chainlink's oracle network operating costs temporarily, which can expedite smart contract innovation and development within their ecosystems. Prominent blockchain ecosystems like Avalanche, Metis, Moonbeam, and Moonriver have already joined, aiming to reduce oracle network operating costs and advance research and development. Over time, these ecosystems are expected to rely on decentralized application (dApp) user fee revenue to cover oracle network costs, fostering self-sustaining economic models. Chainlink SCALE aims to enhance data security and functionality while reducing operational costs for oracle services, fostering user income for Chainlink service providers, and encouraging broader participation within the Chainlink ecosystem. With an emphasis on creating more economic value for all Web3 stakeholders, the program seeks to transform the technology stack into a sustainable economic model, supporting the long-term development of decentralized oracle networks.
