Summary

Chainlink has launched Chainlink 24/7, an oracle-data service intended to provide continuous pricing for tokenized stocks, commodities, funds, and other real-world assets across weekdays, weekends, and holidays. It extends the company’s prior 24/5 equity-data coverage by combining regular and extended-session prices with off-hours references derived from multiple perpetuals venues, using session-aware logic to transition between sources. The service is delivered through onchain Data Feeds for applications such as lending protocols and lower-latency Data Streams for products such as perpetual exchanges and prediction markets, with market-session, bid, and ask context available in relevant cases. Chainlink argues that continuous pricing addresses a key risk for DeFi applications using tokenized assets as collateral, which otherwise must pause activity, use stale prices, or create their own off-hours pricing systems when traditional exchanges close. Aave is adopting Chainlink 24/7 Data Feeds for tokenized real-world asset collateral in its Horizon institutional lending platform, initially for high-volume U.S. equities.
