The Spring 2021 Chainlink Virtual Hackathon is inviting participants to compete for over $125,000 in prizes, while the winners of the 2021 ETHDenver Hackathon have been announced, showcasing innovative smart contract functionalities using Chainlink’s oracle network. The winning projects demonstrated a variety of applications, from using off-chain APIs for data such as GitHub repositories and NBA player stats, to implementing Chainlink VRF for fair randomization in NFTs and gamified systems. A total of $5,000 was awarded, with $1,000 to four top projects and $500 to two runners-up, all utilizing Chainlink oracles to securely connect Ethereum smart contracts to off-chain data. A notable winner, Crypto Plants, developed by Shardul and Daksha Aeer, rewards cryptocurrency donors with unique NFTs, exemplifying the use of Chainlink oracles in creating dynamic NFTs that respond to external data, promoting socially conscious giving and digital scarcity.
