Chainlink Introduces CCIP 2.0, Opening the Floodgates for the World’s Capital to Flow Onchain
Blog post from Chainlink
Chainlink has launched CCIP 2.0, a cross-chain interoperability platform aimed at financial institutions, token issuers, and DeFi developers seeking to move regulated assets across public and private blockchains. The release introduces user-operated or third-party Cross-Chain Verifiers for additional transaction validation, configurable settlement speeds including faster-than-finality transfers, and integrated compliance controls for KYC, AML, sanctions screening, eligibility, and transaction limits through Chainlink’s Automated Compliance Engine. Chainlink positions CCIP as a credibly neutral alternative to proprietary infrastructure and legacy bridges, arguing that it lowers the cost, technical complexity, security exposure, and competitive dependence associated with building cross-chain systems internally. The company states that CCIP has secured more than $84 billion in cross-chain token value and cites adoption or support from organizations including Swift, DTCC, ANZ, Fidelity International, SBI Digital Markets, Coinbase, BitGo, AWS, and Google Cloud. CCIP 2.0 also redesigns its developer tools, APIs, SDK, and CLI to simplify integrations, while Chainlink notes that future product claims and rollout timelines remain subject to uncertainty.
