CCIP Token Developer Attestation Is Now Generally Available

The Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) has launched its Token Developer Attestation feature, now available for developers across all supported blockchain networks, enhancing security and configurability for cross-chain token transfers. This feature, initially introduced in a private beta with the CCIP v1.5 update, allows token developers to verify token burn or lock events on source chains via an Attestation API before CCIP mints or unlocks tokens on destination chains. This innovation, already adopted by notable developers like Lombard for its LBTC token, ensures transactions align with developer-defined standards, offering enterprise-grade compliance and flexible policy enforcement. The feature integrates seamlessly into existing CCIP workflows, minimizing complexity and costs, while providing a robust framework for developers to impose their own verification logic without overhauling existing infrastructure.
