CCIP v1.6 Is Now Live: Unlocking Solana Support, Scaling Chain Integrations, and Reducing User Costs

CCIP v1.6, the latest upgrade of Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol, has launched, introducing support for non-EVM blockchains such as Solana and enhancing scalability and cost-efficiency. This release allows token developers to expand their CCIP-powered tokens into the Solana ecosystem using the Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard, bringing over $19 billion in market cap to Solana. CCIP v1.6 supports 57+ blockchains and integrates 26 networks, including new architectural improvements that reduce complexity for node operators and lower execution costs. The upgrade enables faster integration of EVM and non-EVM chains, making cross-chain transfers more cost-effective and facilitating interoperability across diverse blockchain environments.
