In 2021, Chainlink and Filecoin initiated a joint grant program to foster the development of hybrid smart contracts integrating Chainlink's decentralized oracles and Filecoin's decentralized storage, with the aim of advancing the Web3 stack to include decentralized off-chain computation, data, and storage. Bela Supernova was awarded a grant to create a Chainlink oracle designed to make medical statistics accessible to smart contract applications addressing health crises, disease prevention, and general well-being. Their application will securely store private medical data on Filecoin and provide public health statistics on-chain via the Chainlink Network, enabling the development of data-driven hybrid smart contracts that can dynamically respond to verified health statistics. This project is expected to help various stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and organizations, utilize tamper-proof data for more efficient public health initiatives and policies. The collaborative effort involves leaders from Bela Supernova and Medicohealth, who bring extensive experience in healthcare, fintech, and blockchain, aiming to make health data more accessible and impactful through blockchain technology. The initiative also highlights Chainlink's commitment to supporting ecosystem teams and researchers in their pursuit of building advanced hybrid smart contracts and secure oracle networks.
