Chainlink and Filecoin are collaborating on a joint grant initiative to foster the development of hybrid smart contracts that integrate Chainlink's decentralized oracles with Filecoin's decentralized storage solutions. These contracts combine on-chain code with off-chain data and computation, enhancing blockchain applications with features such as scalability, confidentiality, and connectivity to real-world data. The initiative builds on previous collaborations, including Chainlink External Adapters and participation in the Filecoin Launchpad Accelerator, aiming to deepen integration between the two networks. Developers are encouraged to create workflows using custom-built Chainlink External Adapters for diverse applications like smart contract inputs and outputs, automation, and data storage. The grant program supports up to five teams, promoting the expansion of Web3.0 beyond on-chain computation to incorporate decentralized off-chain resources, with applications spanning areas such as Filecoin miner insurance, data bounties, perpetual storage, and DeFi data.
