Adaptive Resources has received a Chainlink Community Grant to develop a blockchain-based marketplace and certificate system aimed at promoting responsible trade of raw materials, such as tantalum and nickel, in response to increasing demand driven by renewable energy and battery technology. The initiative seeks to replace traditional paper-based systems, which are prone to corruption, with a more transparent and decentralized solution using non-fungible tokens (NFTs). These NFTs will allow companies to contribute to sustainability programs based on their consumption of specific commodities, with proceeds supporting environmentally friendly practices, worker pay, and due diligence in the supply chain. The project, led by blockchain engineer Evan Powlowsky, aims to demonstrate the potential for smart contracts to enhance sustainability practices across global supply chains, with the grant enabling the development of essential infrastructure and tools.
