We designed Census with high performance in mind, not just reliability and usability, and have benchmarked popular reverse ETL tools like Hightouch to measure our efforts and provide market insights. Our initial testing showed Census was up to 44 times faster than Hightouch for large-scale event sync workflows, which is crucial for real-time business use cases, large-scale event forwarding, and maximizing agility and experimentation. We've shared our benchmarking process and results, including how we tested reverse ETL performance with synthetic datasets and destination systems like Mixpanel, and encourage users to replicate the tests and share their findings. Our goal is to continuously push the limits of reverse ETL speed while supporting competition in the category and making benchmarks useful for customers.
