The Connect AI June Release: PII Detection and Masking, Service Accounts for Agents, and RBAC Support
Blog post from CData
Connect AI’s June 2026 release expands its AI Data Control Plane, which is designed to help organizations move AI applications from prototypes to governed production deployments through improved data connectivity, context, and control. The release adds 17 connectors, including GitLab, Gong, FreshBooks, BambooHR, Zoom, and Apollo, while maintaining standardized interfaces and inherited authentication, permission, and audit controls. New Connect AI Skills guide LLMs such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini through source discovery, query construction, and error recovery to improve reliability and reduce token use. Governance additions include configurable PII detection, masking, redaction, or blocking at integration boundaries; dedicated service accounts for automated agents; expanded role-based access controls; Azure Key Vault integration for runtime credential retrieval; and centralized immutable audit logging with searchable API access. An asynchronous, queue-based processing system also enables long-running queries to complete in the background without interrupting agent workflows or depending on client connection stability.
