The AI Gateway Has to Start at the Data
Blog post from CData
CData has announced early access to Connect AI Gateway, a platform designed to govern how AI agents interact with enterprise systems by controlling model routing, tool access, identities, records, actions, costs, and audit trails from a single point. Built on CData’s existing data connectivity layer, the gateway uses source-system schemas, relationships, permissions, and business rules to improve AI accuracy and enforce record-level governance, with the company citing a study in which Connect AI achieved 98.5% accuracy compared with 65% to 75% for other MCP providers. Its architecture combines LLM and MCP gateways, security policies enforced under user identities, a context engine that unifies system metadata, company documentation, and approved institutional knowledge, and live connections to SaaS platforms, databases, warehouses, and on-premises systems. CData argues that direct, governed connections enable agents to retrieve more efficient answer sets, reduce model-token costs, maintain consistent definitions across multiple AI models, and trace outputs or actions back to the associated prompt, model, tools, records, and policies.
