Summary

CData has joined the Linux Foundation’s Agentic AI Foundation as a Silver member to help shape the future of the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which it supports through its MCP-native Connect AI data layer. Established in December 2025 after Anthropic contributed MCP alongside Block’s goose and OpenAI’s AGENTS.md, AAIF provides neutral governance for a protocol used across platforms including Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Cursor, and VS Code. CData plans to contribute enterprise customer experience to AAIF working groups focused on identity and trust, observability, security and privacy, and workflow integration, particularly as AI agents move into production business processes. With more than 170 member organizations as of June 2026, AAIF brings together major cloud and AI providers with infrastructure, security, and tooling companies, while CData’s membership enables it to participate in working groups and committees and relay feedback from Connect AI users.
