Introducing CARTO Heatmaps for Big Data Visualization

CARTO has introduced an update to its heatmap style, which can now support large-scale data visualization. Heatmaps are a powerful way to visualize spatial data using color gradients to represent density and intensity over geographical areas. They are ideal for conveying quick visualizations of data concentration, identifying high and low density areas, and conducting qualitative analysis. However, they may not be optimal for sensitive or private data, precision of outputs, or when there are no spatial patterns in the data. With CARTO's new capabilities, users can create heatmaps online by adding a point layer to their map and experimenting with different color palettes and density radii. The update also enables developers to build large-scale heatmaps in their apps using CARTO + deck.gl.
