The Anti-Eviction Mapping Project and CARTO have partnered to analyze gentrification and eviction trends in San Francisco using data from the American Community Survey and Zillow Rental Estimates. They used CARTO's Data Observatory to aggregate eviction locations into census tracts, providing context by dividing counts by number of households. The analysis also incorporated demographic segmentation and rent data to enrich the understanding of eviction rates in different parts of the city. By visualizing this data, the partnership aims to guide policy and advocacy efforts to protect local populations affected by gentrification and evictions.
