In the first half of 2021, Bump introduced several key updates to enhance the API development experience, including the launch of a new node-based CLI, which supersedes the previous Ruby gem version. This updated CLI supports recursive external references, enabling API definitions to be refactored into smaller, reusable components. Bump also improved user onboarding with a streamlined process for generating documentation, compatible with both OpenAPI and AsyncAPI, and enhanced the responsive experience for mobile access to their dashboard and documentation. Additional features include lazy rendering to speed up the loading of API documentation and a new dark mode option for user customization. Furthermore, Bump expanded its support for generated examples, including default field values and multipart/form-data content type endpoint examples, aimed at improving the user experience.
