Remote Builds on linux/arm64 with BuildBuddy
Blog post from BuildBuddy
BuildBuddy has expanded its remote execution platform to support the ARM64 architecture, allowing users to execute builds and tests natively on ARM64 executors for improved speed and consistency with deployment architectures. The platform now includes support for autoscaled cloud Linux ARM64 runners, providing scalable solutions that charge only for actual resource usage. This enhancement simplifies the process of maintaining projects on both ARM64 and x86-64 architectures by eliminating the need for slow cross-compilation. Users can easily configure their Bazel builds to utilize BuildBuddy's ARM64 executors by incorporating the BuildBuddy toolchain into their WORKSPACE file, facilitating seamless and efficient builds on the updated platform.
