Stefano Failla and Paola Ginella, co-founders of GoSaily, built a web app that connects private sailboat owners with sailor crews through a two-way marketplace using Bubble's no-code platform. The app was first built in 2015 with code but converted to no-code in 2017. GoSaily has undergone substantial changes over the years and now offers a range of features including a community forum, crew ads, gear and equipment advice sections, and a chat system for users to connect with each other. The app is designed to be user-friendly and accessible, with all user accounts being free of charge. Stefano chose Bubble due to its advanced no-code functionality, scalable architecture, and flexibility in offering plugins and integrations. He was impressed by the tool's ability to offer a real database, separation of design from database architecture, and business logic, making it an ideal platform for building complex applications like GoSaily. The app has achieved several milestones, including re-building the existing full-coded marketplace with Bubble and refactoring the app in 2020. Stefano plans to make GoSaily available in English and create a digital community for enthusiastic sailors to share their experiences, ask for advice, and find boat or boating experiences.
