We asked anyPlant founder, Paul Wilson, about building an app that enables users to search for "any plant" and organize plants by information. Paul chose Bubble because the no-code platform offers almost all of the customization options, features, and resources to build any app. The main reason for putting this app together was his passion for plants, hoping it would be a useful tool for gardeners or students alike. The interface is designed to be simple, with a clear search box and an option to upload pictures of plants for identification via the https://plant.id service. The Profile section allows users to save and organize their own plants in groups, while the Groups section enables custom group creation and management. The app's datasource comes from a database hosted by `https://trefle.io` with API requests, and features include family common name filtering and advanced search functionality. Paul discovered no-code tools like Bubble through Google and enjoys using it for creating apps and plugins. He built anyPlant on Bubble due to its powerful point-and-click editor and cloud hosting platform, which allows users to build fully customizable web applications and workflows.
