Dr. Alexis Zrimec used no-code tool Bubble to build the LIFE NarcIS IT Coordinator project as a proof of concept, which later became a publicly funded project for building an information system for nature conservation in Slovenia. The narcis.si app provides access to various institutional sources on biology and nature conservation, aiming to make implementation of environmental legislation more efficient by reducing administrative burdens and increasing data accessibility. Dr. Zrimec discovered no-code tools like Bubble through his experience working with IT teams and found it allowed him to build full-scale web applications quickly and in a fraction of the time needed before. He chose Bubble for its ability to enable building websites, fast prototypes, and full-stack web applications, as well as having access to external APIs and plugins. The project has seen success in convincing developers that no-code can deliver better results and is faster than traditional approaches. Dr. Zrimec plans to establish an internal team to continue developing the app's features and services, including data browsers, GIS interfaces, and connectors to external databases.
