This initiative, developed in collaboration with partners like Cloudflare, Fingerprint, and 1Password, focuses on creating a coherent browser environment that allows agents to be recognized across sessions, rather than appearing as new users each time. By shifting from stealth to identity, the system enables agents to present cryptographically signed proofs of identity, akin to a digital passport, allowing them to be distinguished from potentially malicious entities. This identity framework facilitates identity-based access control, making it possible for trusted agents to access systems securely alongside human users. The introduction of Verified marks the first step in applying this new identity model, which could transform the web into an environment where both humans and agents can coexist and operate within the same systems.
