Becoming Multi-Region
Blog post from Browserbase
Browserbase, a browser-based service provider, initially operated exclusively from AWS us-west-1, experiencing high latency due to the distance between users and their browsers. To address this issue, they investigated various possibilities before realizing that distance was the root cause of the problem. By shifting their infrastructure strategy to minimize physical distance between customers and their browser sessions, Browserbase successfully implemented a multi-region approach, reducing latency by more than 2x for users connecting to their nearest region, resulting in lower costs for customers through improved efficiency. The company now offers a multi-region deployment, allowing users to specify their preferred region when connecting, significantly improving performance and providing best practices for customers to get the most out of this infrastructure.
