Use Box for Microsoft Teams
Blog post from Box
Box aims to centralize content management by integrating its platform with various enterprise software, notably enhancing its integration with Microsoft 365 and Teams. Recent updates to the Box for Microsoft Teams integration, initially launched in March 2020, include allowing users to default to Box as their storage option, which helps enforce IT storage policies and reduce user confusion in file management. The updates also make Box a personal app within Teams, improving accessibility to all Box files, not just those shared in channels and chats, and introducing a cleaner content card preview interface. Upcoming features will enable admins to install the Box for Teams integration organization-wide, simplifying deployment and promoting policy adoption. Additionally, the Box files tab will be added to Teams chats, and the integration will be pre-pinned for easy file sharing. Meanwhile, Box for Microsoft Office, another popular integration, will soon support real-time co-authoring on Office desktop and mobile apps, allowing simultaneous editing of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint files with automatic saving to Box.
