Collaborating to empower one million displaced people by 2021
Blog post from Box
Box.org participated in the 2019 Laudato sì Challenge in Rome and Vatican City, aiming to address forced displacement by empowering one million people by 2021, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals. The summit, involving humanitarian leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, and faith leaders, focused on three targets: accelerating 20 measurable "Commitments to Impact," fostering at least 30 new public-private-faith partnerships, and achieving full participation from attendees. Box.org exceeded these goals, establishing 20 commitments, creating 33 partnerships, and achieving 100% participation. Their commitment involves empowering 100 for-profit and NGO organizations using Box technology to prevent forced displacement. The organization has a history of collaboration with the International Rescue Committee, providing discounted services and raising significant funds. Looking forward, Box.org plans to ensure the fulfillment of commitments by convening stakeholders in California to develop and manage individual plans using the Box platform, with progress tracked and reported to leadership and the public throughout the year.
