Box and Salesforce: powering the headless enterprise
Blog post from Box
Box and Salesforce are expanding their partnership to connect Salesforce’s structured business data with Box’s governed unstructured content across AI tools such as Agentforce, Slack, and Claude. Through products including Box for Agentforce, the Box MCP Server, Box AI, Box for Salesforce, Box Doc Gen, and Box Sign, organizations can access, create, manage, summarize, generate, and sign documents while files remain stored in Box and existing permissions, classifications, and compliance controls are maintained. Salesforce’s headless AgentExchange approach uses MCP and APIs to make business records, workflows, and actions available in different AI interfaces, while Box provides a corresponding content layer that supports secure search, retrieval, and analysis. Demonstrated use cases include reviewing loan applications, summarizing account materials, processing service-case documentation, automating folder creation and document workflows, and generating agreements from Salesforce records for e-signature. The integration targets industries including government, healthcare, financial services, insurance, and retail, with the broader aim of giving AI agents reliable access to both records and supporting documents without duplicating content across systems.
