AWS and Box bring Box Agent Skills to Kiro
Blog post from Box
Box and AWS have introduced Box Agent Skills for AWS Kiro through Kiro Powers, enabling Kiro’s agentic development environment to provide Box-specific guidance for building integrations, content workflows, webhooks, authentication, Box AI features, and retrieval-based applications. The open-source skills supply reusable instructions, API knowledge, recommended patterns, and guardrails that activate for Box-related development tasks, helping developers move from prompts such as adding file uploads or configuring file-event webhooks to implementation. In Kiro CLI, developers can additionally connect the Box MCP server to access live Box content they are authorized to view, allowing the agent to use product requirements, architecture documents, security guidance, and internal standards alongside a project’s codebase when creating plans or reviewing implementations. Box remains the governed source of truth because existing permissions and administrative controls continue to apply, with OAuth client credentials required for MCP access. The skills, already available for Claude, Cursor, and OpenAI Codex, are intended to make Box development expertise portable across AI coding tools while supporting consistent practices for applications using governed enterprise content.
