Augusta University uses Box Sign & Enterprise Advanced to reduce costs significantly
Blog post from Box
Augusta University consolidated content management, e-signatures, workflow automation, and emerging AI capabilities on Box Enterprise Advanced and Box Sign to reduce software costs, simplify operations, and strengthen compliance across its academic, clinical, and research activities. Replacing a separate e-signature system produced an immediate 20% licensing savings, enabled nearly 4,000 senders, and generated more than 21,000 signature requests in two months, while Box Consulting supported migration and adoption. The university also automated its graduation application process with Box Forms, Relay, Sign, and Doc Gen, reducing processing time from roughly 15 minutes to less than five minutes per application and sharply lowering incomplete or erroneous submissions. For sensitive research data, Box’s granular permissions, long-term audit logs, and integrations with Box Shield and Microsoft Purview supported HIPAA, FERPA, and other compliance needs while improving secure collaboration. With Box AI approved under its emerging governance framework, AU is considering custom Box Agents for additional workflows and views its platform consolidation strategy as a model for institutions seeking to balance budget constraints, security, automation, and AI adoption.
