Bitrise has introduced three free enhancements to its React Native CodePush over-the-air update service: default delta updates, code signing, and a dedicated Bitrise CI workflow step. Delta updates send only changed bundle files rather than an entire JavaScript bundle, with reported production update-size reductions of 33% to 90%, reducing user bandwidth use and plan data-transfer consumption. Code signing uses an RSA keypair and JWT-based bundle hash verification so devices reject tampered or corrupted updates, and it is currently available through the CLI with web UI configuration planned. The new CI Step enables CodePush publishing directly within Bitrise workflows, automatically detecting common React Native, Expo, and Hermes settings while supporting artifact deployment and customizable release logic. Bitrise positions these capabilities as core production requirements rather than premium features, offering them on its free plan, which includes up to 100,000 monthly active users, 5 TB of transfer, and unlimited apps.
