M5 Pro runners for GitHub Actions, coming to Bitrise Build Hub

Bitrise announced plans to add Apple’s newly introduced M5 Pro and M6 Mac mini hardware to its Build Hub GitHub Actions runner alternative shortly after the machines ship on September 22, 2026. The company emphasizes that the M5 Pro, with up to 18 CPU cores, 64 GB of unified memory, and 307 GB/s memory bandwidth, is expected to be particularly well suited to mobile CI workloads, while the M6 offers a smaller 12-core CPU and GPU configuration. Bitrise attributes its rapid adoption of new Apple silicon to owning and operating its own Mac hardware in US and EU data centers, avoiding reliance on third-party cloud providers and mitigating supply-chain disruptions. Until the new runners arrive, it positions its M4 Pro runners as the fastest available for GitHub Actions, claiming roughly 54% faster iOS builds than GitHub-hosted runners, alongside features including unchanged workflows, prewarmed VM pools, scalable concurrency, fast Xcode updates, and a publicly tracked 99.9% uptime SLA.
