AI Gateway updates: New Terraform provider, localhost MCPs, and more
Blog post from Barndoor
Barndoor’s August 2026 AI Gateway release expands governance, visibility, and automation for enterprise AI agents and MCP integrations. AgentProfile enhancements give each agent a governed identity with its own credentials, owner and contact details, secret rotation, persistent audit history, spending visibility, and traffic and error-rate reporting, reducing reliance on human credentials and preventing duplicate LLM-key bindings. The platform also adds real-time in-product and external alerts, an official Terraform provider for managing policies and configurations as code, and policy revision history that records what changed, when, and by whom. Early-access Barndoor Bridge extends centralized policy enforcement to locally run MCP servers through an endpoint background agent, while more granular access confirmations allow administrators to allow, require approval for, or block actions by tool and user role or group. New Cloud66 and DigitalOcean MCP connectors bring infrastructure, networking, storage, deployment, and account-management actions under existing governance controls, and expanded LLM Gateway reporting provides real-time cost, traffic, and error analysis across agents, users, groups, organizations, API keys, and models.
